I am the opposite, I hate that it will now get dark at 4-4:30 instead of 5:30-6. I want the sun to still be out while I drive home from work. I don't need an earlier sunrise, I need a later sunset. Stay on DST is my vote. I still agree with NOT changing the clocks twice a year, pick a time zone and stick with it.

I go to work before the sun rises (and am underground on the way there bc subway), my building has no windows (middle of a block of hospital buildings) and when i leave I go underground for the subway and by the time I emerge there is no longer any sunlight

Driving at night is tough on both of us, though at least I'm getting a bit better, though I'm not ready to drive on highways at night yet.

I mostly stick to the roads here in Brockton MA, and it's especially helpful when the streetlights were upgraded to L.E.D. in 2017-18.

I hate how headlights are now overly bright for urban driving and aimed higher so they are blasting in the eyes of drivers coming the other direction. It is like normal lights are what used to be high beams. Normal lights need to be dimmed and aimed downward at the road. A lot of these cars should be failing yearly inspection due to headlights aimed too high.

It’s mainly the fault of the drivers for not properly maintaining their headlights, the fault of manufacturers for not designing properly, and the fault of the government for not making a standard like Europe has.

MA has headlight aim as part of the state yearly inspection. I never see anyone doing the inspection enforcing it, even when the headlights are completely above the max height mark. If the light is above the mark, the vehicle is supposed to get the red circle failed inspection sticker

Sadly New Jersey did away with pretty much all inspections except emissions. I lost count how many times I’ve gotten behind a vehicle which had no business being on the road. Cracked windshields, parts duct taped on the car, no brake lights.

Hey once again I gotta say thank you to the community. It really is a back-yard convention for me and a very large amount of my friends and acquaintances go; but thank you to the people that stepped out of the crowd Friday evening when my car key broke and I needed a tow in front of the main entrance.

I don't remember your names but wolf fursona who got the car into neutral and showed the tow driver how to since he wasn't aware; and to what I think was a feline fursona who might have been an EMS who directed traffic around us. Thank you guys specifically since you could have shrugged your shoulders and went back to partying.

Thank you to my local friends too who watched it so I could check in to my room while we waited for the truck. Even after we told multiple hotel employees and security guards that AAA was on the way to move the car they still went and put a sign that it would be towed at my expense and my neighbor Roseboy caught it while I was bringing my bags upstairs.

Every Furpoc leaves me really humbled and valuing what an awesome community the fandom is full of great quality people.

Aww thank you! And I felt the same way leaving Furpoc — this was actually my first con, despite being in the fandom for 20 years. I’m feeling much more connected to the furry community than I ever have before, as well as more comfortable with being a furry. I came out to 3 friends as a furry in the week after the con, having never been out to any non-furs (besides my partner) before, and it felt great

Oooh I get that. I found the fandom in 2004 as a shy highschool student and didn't even start chatting online until like 2014. 2017 went to my first convention and was kicking myself I waited so long. I feel like the world is different and if outsiders have heard of the fandom the reaction seems generally positive. Hell of a plot ark to go from, "I must never share this secret" as a teen to have non-furry friends asking if they can go to furpoc next year.

On this particular shot, the main subject illuminant was actually the lights from the lobby. All the natural light was coming from the back, so the two subjects came out pretty fine.

But also the natural light was also quite harsh, and it sort of triggered CineStill's characteristic red halation effect which just happened to counterbalance the blue.

Yeah, it's possible it could be a tactile/audible pushbutton for the visually impaired, so that it vibrates and makes sounds when the green light for their direction is on.

"Penn Ave. Walk sign is on to cross Penn Ave." Of course our version is "Penn Ave. Walk like a dog to cross Penn Ave." A few years ago at that intersection I saw a local walking his dog on leash and the dog saw a fox fursuiter and started yapping like crazy. Yup. There are differences between expired, best by, and sell by dates. Expired means toss it after that date. Sell by is the latest date to sell where it still has useful life in the customers home. This is common for milk. Best by date is that the flavors are starting to go off. It's still safe and nutritional but not as tasty and some nutrients are decreased.

I mean, I had a nissan altima I was torching manifold flange studs out of and the fabric sound dampening material caught fire. I was an idiot and the hood was closed... had to lower the car down.. pop the hood and run to get the hose.... then moving back the hose kinked on the other lift and i'm like wtf

It's basically a water absorbable gelling chemical. The kit is a five gallon container of white powder and a sprayer you attach to your garden hose. Put powder in sprayer, spray gel full of water on your house. It sticks to everything until you hit dry season, then it dries out and falls off. The residue helps the soil retain moisture later.

The demo I saw was impressive. They setup two wooden sheds side by side. Sprayed one with the goop. Then piled some brush against them and ignited them. One shed got scorched and some smoke damage, the other burned up.
